Desiccants in the Apparel, Footwear & Headwear Industry

Garments (T-shirts, Shirts, Hoodies, Knitwear) – Individual Package Moisture Protection

E-commerce apparel, folded retail packaging, cross-border inventory storage.
Common problems: Moisture odor during rainy seasons, mildew spots on absorbent fabrics, softening of hangtags and paper inserts.

Recommended solution: Place 1g–2g silica gel or mineral desiccant in each individual OPP/PE bag; use 2g–5g for knitwear, wool, silk, or gift-boxed garments.

Typical result: Lower humidity inside the package, fewer odor complaints, and reduced tag deformation.

Leather & Sports Shoes - Anti-Mildew Protection in Shoe Box Packaging

Leather shoes, casual shoes, sports shoes, children’s footwear, finished goods in shoe boxes.
Common problems: Mold on uppers, lining, insoles, and adhesive zones; damp shoe boxes; strong odor after storage.

Recommended solution: Use 5g–10g per pair as the basic range. A common practice is one desiccant pouch inside the shoe cavity and one in the empty space of the shoe box. For premium leather shoes or boots, 10g–20g
per pair is often more appropriate.

Typical result: Reduced mold growth, lower odor risk, and better unboxing condition.

Headwear (Caps, Hats, Wool Hats) - Moisture Control & Shape Retention

Baseball caps, gift-boxed hats, wool felt hats, hats with structured brims or laminated components.

Common problems: Brim softening, hat deformation, mildew in inner lining, damp packaging boxes.

Recommended solution: Use 1g–2g for standard caps, 3g–5g for premium hats or wool hats. For structured products, combine desiccant with an internal support insert to preserve shape.

Typical result: Better dimensional stability and fewer moisture-related complaints.

Bags, Wallets, Belts, and Fashion Accessories

PU bags, genuine leather bags, wallets, belts, gloves, accessory gift sets.

Common problems: Leather mildew, oxidation of metal buckles and zippers, odor buildup, moisture damage to rigid gift boxes.

Recommended solution: Use 2g–5g for wallets and belts, 5g–10g for medium bags, and 10g–20g for large leather bags or premium boxed sets.

Typical result: Improved protection for leather surfaces and metal trims, plus better opening experience for end-users.
